The Why . . .

In a world where we all wear many hats and manage busy schedules, we offer an educational service to both healthcare providers and the lay public. Our vision is to change the numbers.

But Why ?

Early on in our careers, many of us started as a volunteer at the local rescue squad or fire department. This experience took us on a journey that led to many educational opportunities that helped us grow as a provider. This led to building our confidence, competence, and most importantly our compassion to help others. As time went on, there were fewer and fewer educational opportunities for both the lay public, first responders, and healthcare providers. These opportunities often kept the fire lit and the continued desire to help others. After all, in your time of need, most would want someone with the most up to date education and the confidence to step up and help someone in an emergency. COVID reared its ugly head, and these education opportunities basically came to a stop nationwide. It is our mission to make available these trainings for anyone interested. The numbers:

Every year, about 475,000 Americans have a heart attack. Nearly 90% of them are fatal.

Chest compressions initiated within the first 2 minutes increase the chance of survival by 25%.

Use of an AED within the first 2 minutes of an attack increases the chance of survival by 75%.

Average response time for EMS is 6 to 8 minutes. That only leaves a 30-40% chance for a successful defibrillation by the time first responders arrive.

Hands-only CPR can triple the chance of survival from sudden cardiac arrest.

Even a child can do it.

While we know that those numbers are pretty big, and although we may not obliterate all deaths from sudden cardiac arrest, we can drastically reduce those numbers. As healthcare providers, paramedics, and first responders we can’t do it alone. We need YOUR help. Contact us today to schedule a course and bring those numbers down. We are grateful for the awesome people we get to work with provide them with the skills to save a life.

Sudden cardiac arrest often happens in the home. The life you save may be a loved one, friend, or co-worker. Call or text us at 434-660-5513 or email us today at nineriversva@gmail.com. We look forward to working with you.
